Physically challenged and home-bound patients who aren’t able to get out of the home need dental treatment and care as much as those able to make it to the dental office. Maintaining oral health is a key element in improving overall health and quality of life. Our goal is to have our home dentistry patients be comfortable and confident when they eat and smile. The services we provide are the same quality that can be achieved in a dental office.
We believe in a comprehensive approach to dental care. Portable Dental Services excels in a wide variety of procedures. Dental care is available to residents in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, senior-independent living apartments, private homes and apartments.
Dental treatment is provide to people who are afflicted by strokes, dementia, Muscular Dystrophy, lymphodema, Cerebral Palsy, agoraphobia, anxiety, brain trauma, along with many other home-bound problems. We are able to provide the same quality dental care in your residency that can be done in a dental office.
We bring all of our dental equipment right into the residence. There can be as many as five of us at times, but usually four and sometimes less. We see the patient wherever they are most comfortable; a bed, a recliner, a wheel chair or even a kitchen chair. We set everything up around the patient. You can rest assured that our instruments and equipment are thoroughly sterilized and disinfected following OSHA standards.
Our direct communication is always with the family, power of attorney and/or guardian, unless the patient is still in charge of themselves and all their own medical and financial decisions. At the first appointment, at minimum, a comprehensive examination and x-rays will take place. It can be helpful for a friend or family member to be present at the first appointment, however, it is not a necessity. If someone is present at the appointment the doctor will be able to show and discuss any areas of concerns and offer his recommendations with you. A dental plan and possible options will be composed and forwarded to you by either mail or email. If someone is not able to be at the appointment, we will call you afterwards and let you know what the doctors' findings were and send you the treatment plan. After you receive and review the treatment plan, do not hesitate to call us to go over it in detail with you and answer any questions you might have. These decisions can often be difficult. A healthy mouth, free of bacteria, is always our goal!
Dr. Mansour and his team have been fantastic! My mom needed to have her last teeth extracted and get full dentures. They were calming, caring and reassuring for the whole time. The follow-ups have been great to make sure she has adjusted fine. I would recommend Dr. Mansour to anybody. He and his team have been a blessing to my mom
